Gate of Ar-Rayyan: There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyan, and those who observe fasting will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection, and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, ‘Where are those who used to fast?’ They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry, the gate will be closed, and nobody will enter through it.
Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said
Fasting shields from sins: Fasting is a shield; it will protect you from the Hellfire and prevent you from sins.[Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1894]
Du’a at Iftar is accepted: The supplication of the fasting person at the time of breaking the fast is not rejected.[Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 1753]
Two joys for the fasting person: The fasting person has two moments of joy: one when he breaks his fast, and the other when he meets his Lord. The smell coming from the mouth of a fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.
Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said
Intention of fasting: Actions are judged by their intentions, and everyone will be rewarded according to what he intended. If someone intends to fast during the month of Ramadan and then is prevented from doing so due to illness or travel, Allah will still reward him as if he had fasted.
Breaking the fast with dates: When any of you breaks his fast, he should break it with dates; but if he does not have any, then with water, for water is a purifier.
The reward for the one who gives food to the fasting person: Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without decreasing the reward of the fasting person.
