Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said
- The Messenger of Allah is closest to Allah when prostrating: The Messenger of Allah said, “The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state).
- The first deed on the Day of Resurrection is salat:
The first deed a servant will be called to account for on the Day of Resurrection is salat. - Salat is the key to Paradise:
The key to Paradise is salat, and the key to salat is ‘Wudu’.

The Prophet ﷺ said
- Salat prohibits immorality:
Salat prohibits immorality and wrongdoing. - The Prophet said the earth is a place for praying:
The Prophet said, “I have been given five things which were not given to any amongst the Prophets before me. The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum.
Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said
- The Prophet advised to shorten prayers for the weak and sick:
The Prophet said, “If anyone of you leads the people in the prayer, he should shorten it, for amongst them are the weak, the sick, and the old. - Satan distracts people during prayer:
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah said, “When Satan hears the call to prayer, he turns back and breaks the wind so as not to hear the call being made.
